A mother and son from Whitby have been disqualified from keeping animals for ten years after pleading guilty to two offences relating to their akita Tigerlily.

 

Lesley Cameron (D.O.B 11.04.60) and Alexander Cameron (D.O.B  08.10.1988), both of Greens Yard, Church Street appeared before Scarborough Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday 18 March).

 

They pleaded guilty to two offences* under the Animal Welfare Act relating to Tigerlily, who was suffering with a pyometra, a uterus infection.

The RSPCA is issuing advice on what to do if you come across a seal after a number of alarming incidents along the Yorkshire Coast recently, including one where a seal was injured by a dog.

 

The seal was collected from Flamborough on Monday (23 January) and is now receiving treatment.
