The RSPCA is appealing for information after 25 rabbits were abandoned in freezing cold blizzard conditions in Sheffield at the weekend.

 

The rabbits were found in a large cardboard box in an alleyway near Landseer Drive, Gleadless on Saturday morning (17 March) and taken in by a member of the public, who called us.

We are thanking pet owners and farmers for keeping their animals safe during the recent stormy weather.

Animal rescue teams were on standby to deal with emergencies as strong winds and rain lashed England and Wales on Sunday (October 27).

Happily pet owners and farmers are thought to have acted on warnings and moved their animals indoors or to higher ground.
