Dog lovers from across North Wales are invited to the RSPCA Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre’s Fun Dog Show on 21 May.

The ‘Fun Dog Show’ is taking place at the Centre, in Upper Colwyn Bay, on Sunday 21 May, and runs from 11am until 4pm.

Staff at the Centre have highlighted how the show celebrates “everything we love about dogs, of all breeds, shapes and sizes”.

Members of the public have been urged to vote with their feet, and give a circus using performing wild animals a miss in Porthcawl this week.

The circus is taking place between 10 May and 14 May in the town, and the charity believes a low turnout at the event is important to further highlight the public’s lack of support.

RSPCA Cymru has launched an appeal for information after the suspected stabbing of a Shetland pony in the Penycae area of Wrexham.

On Wednesday [July 29], the owner of the pony – named Casper – found the animal, at Plas Bennian Road, with a deep wound on its shoulder. It is believed the injury was sustained between 10pm on 28 July and 12.15pm the following day.
