RSPCA Cymru teamed-up with a local tree surgeon to rescue a cat trapped 50-feet up a New Inn tree.

The cat was spotted by a member of the public, on Heol Derwen, up a towering giant Ash tree.

RSPCA Cymru enlisted the help of Lee Symes, of Lee Symes Tree Services, who spent 90 minutes on Sunday afternoon (13 August) working to safely remove the torbie-and-white cat from the tree.

A terrified cat has been rescued from a tree in Nantymoel, near Bridgend, after joint action from RSPCA Cymru and South Wales Fire & Rescue Service.

Rhubarb became trapped around 20 feet up a tree on Wednesday (12 October). Though the cat was in good health and responsive, he appeared both rigid and scared and was hardly moving.

A deer has been rescued by the RSPCA after getting stuck in a tree at Haydock racecourse in Newton le Willows, Merseyside.


The Roe deer buck had become trapped with his front legs over one side of a tree and his back legs over the other.


The RSPCA was contacted about the animal’s plight on the morning of Wednesday 5 March and animal welfare officer (AWO) Matt Brown and animal collection officer (ACO) Victoria Marsh attended.
