A run-away tortoise spent at least FOUR DAYS roaming Wrexham woodland.

RSPCA Cymru was alerted after a member of the public found the female Horsefield tortoise in woods adjacent to their Linden Grove property in Llay on 20 March.

However, local residents had spotted the animal four days previously – before the tortoise was later safely collected by a member of the public, and the RSPCA was notified.

A runaway tortoise has been reunited with their Brackla-based owner, after being spotted walking up a path by a member of the public who was heading to the local shops.

RSPCA Cymru was alerted after the spur-thighed (Testudo graeca) tortoise was found strolling up a pathway on Tuesday April 3.

An RSPCA wildlife centre is appealing for a home for a tortoise who was found in a street in Sandbach.

A member of the public found the large 11kg leopard tortoise – who has been nicknamed Lillian – in the a street on 23 October. She took her into the RSPCA’s Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre, in Nantwich, where she has been looked after since.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after two injured Hermann tortoises were abandoned by their owner outside the doors of Marwell Zoo in Winchester.

Marwell Zoo reported the incident to the RSPCA on Thursday 2 July after finding the two tortoises dumped in a container outside the entrance to the attraction.
