An injured swan who was spotted wobbling around and unable to stand properly has been rescued in Spalding, Lincolnshire.
The RSPCA was called by a concerned animal-lover after they came across the swan at around 5.30pm on Tuesday (14 April) and RSPCA Animal Collection Officer Donna Smith went straight to the location on Two Plank Lane.
The swan was on the towpath beside the river when Donna got there.

The dangers fishing litter pose to Wales’ wildlife has again come under the spotlight, after the RSPCA raced to the rescue of a troubled swan at Pen-Y-Fan Pond in Crumlin.
RSPCA Cymru was alerted after a member of the public spotted the swan with fishing line caught around their legs and back.

The RSPCA and officers from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have rescued a swan with a dog bite from a pond in Sheffield, to applause from local people.
The RSPCA attended Frecheville Pond just off Hopedale Road at around 5pm on Thursday afternoon (2 April) after a report that a swan had been attacked by a dog, and was injured. She was on an island with her mate, sitting on a nest of eggs.

An RSPCA officer had her face spat in by members of a group of teenagers who shouted “have Corona b****” whilst she was rescuing a swan in Hull, East Yorkshire.
Animal Welfare Officer Leanne Honess-Heather was helping a swan who was tangled in fishing line when she was approached by the five male youths aged 16 or 17.

The RSPCA has rescued a young swan trapped in an enclosed graveyard – just months after rescuing the juvenile’s father.
