The RSPCA is appealing for information after a female swan was shot with a cross bow in Lynemouth, Northumberland.  The bolt went straight through her neck.

 

A member of the public called the RSPCA after spotting the swan and inspector Trevor Walker went out to the bird on the River Lyne on Monday (15 July).

 

He couldn’t get to her as she was on the water so requested the help of Northumberland Fire Service who attended.

Litter harms animals, so bin it before injury or even death occurs. That’s the message of our officer after rescuing a cygnet in North Wales.

RSPCA Inspector Mike Pugh was called to a lake on the Haven Holidays site in Chwilog, Pwllheli, on the afternoon of Saturday 29 June. The young swan was caught in discarded fishing line and was clearly struggling.
