An RSPCA Cymru appeal for information has been launched following reports that a number of cats in the Abercynon area have gone missing.

The charity has been contacted after a male tabby and white cat, named Monty, went missing from Lock Street in the area on July 25 – and has not been found.

Dog owners from across Newport and beyond are invited to a special autumnal photo shoot at the RSPCA’s Adoption Centre, at Pets at Home, on Saturday (October 7).

The event, taking place at the Newport store at the Mendalgief Retail Park on Docks Way, allows dogs and their families to have a professional photograph taken, and enjoy a series of fun-filled activities.

RSPCA Cymru has launched an appeal for information, following the death of a Church Village cat in suspicious circumstances.

The charity was alerted after a three-year old cat, named Vig, sadly passed away suddenly on Friday evening (15 September), having been seen vomiting. He was showing no ill effects before the incident.

It is feared Vig may have been poisoned, after another cat on the same street became unwell at the same time and is undergoing veterinary treatment.

An appeal for information has been launched by the RSPCA, following reports of two fatal anti-freeze cat poisonings in Tonypandy.

The charity has been alerted after two cats, from the Zion Terrace area of the town, had to be put to sleep on independent veterinary advice, having consumed anti-freeze.

Cat owners in the Tonypandy area have also been urged to be vigilant, understand the symptoms of poisoning, and what action they should take if the worst is feared.

Seven newborn kittens have been found dumped “heartlessly” in a carrier bag in Abercynon.

RSPCA Cymru has launched an appeal for information, after the shocking discovery was made by a member of the public on Wednesday (16 August).

Two of the seven kittens were found dead, while another – initially seen to be gasping – later sadly passed away. A mother cat to the kittens was nowhere to be seen.
