The RSPCA has launched an appeal for information after a skewbald stallion pony with an untreated abscess was removed from Gelligaer Common.
Officers from the animal welfare charity jointly worked with Redwings Horse Sanctuary, The British Horse Society and Caerphilly Council to reach the badly injured pony, on 28 July.

A young gull has been rescued after becoming stuck in a tiny, narrow gap between two fences in Bridgend.
Heart-warming video footage captures the moments the gull was rescued from the gap, and safely returned to the air from a nearby rooftop.

April 10 turned out to be a very Good Friday for a swan rescued by the RSPCA in Pwll after swallowing fishing litter.

The RSPCA is appealing for information following the rescue of an underweight pony from Pontyclun.
Reports to the RSPCA claim the horse had been tethered on land without permission at Sevenoaks Fishery on Cowbridge Road in the South Wales community.
