A dead royal python has been found in the Cwmbran area, with bruising on the head and body of the animal.
RSPCA Cymru has launched an appeal for information after the discovery of a still, injured snake was made by a member of the public on 30 December, at Wool Pitch in the Greenmeadow area of the town.
An RSPCA officer collected the two-foot long snake; and veterinary examination sadly confirmed the animal was dead.

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information amid fears that a dog was poisoned in the Pontypool area.
The animal welfare charity has been alerted after the male beagle dog, named Rolo, was found to be seriously unwell on 8 November, and was taken to a local veterinary practice by the owner.

A special pet blessing service will take place in Merthyr Tydfil on Sunday (October 8).
The annual event takes place at St Tydfil’s Old Parish Church on Lower High Street in the town, and gets underway at 3pm.
Sunday’s blessing is run in conjunction with the RSPCA’s Glamorgan North and East branch, with the Church collecting funds for the local RSPCA charity at the event.
