The RSPCA is appealing for information about a cat who died after being shot at close range in Birmingham.

George, a male tabby who was eight months old, suffered serious injuries to his kidneys and a main artery after being shot in his abdomen.

He was found in the back garden of his home in Chestnut Drive, Erdington, Birmingham, on the evening of Wednesday, 11th November by his owners, Rachel and Richard Bourne.

A cat was rescued by the RSPCA and West Midlands Fire Service after becoming impaled on a fence in Birmingham.

The young female tabby, who has been named Sparkle, was found by a member of the public on a metal railing fence in their back garden in Bromford Lane, Washwood Heath, on the evening of Friday, 6 November.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a cat was shot with an air rifle in Swadlincote.

The four-year-old white and grey male tabby was found with severe injuries to his back legs in Parliament Street, Newhall, Swadlincote, on Wednesday, 28 October.

On examination at a vets, the injuries were found to have been caused by an air rifle. The cat is now recovering at home.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after an emaciated American Bulldog was found on a Coventry street.

 The dog, who has been named Clara, was found in Nicholls Street, in Hillfields, Coventry, on Wednesday 28 October. She is believed to be aged around two and it is thought that she may have recently had puppies.
