A husband and wife from Mountain Ash narrowly avoided being sent to prison for their failure to meet the needs of 15 Labrador puppies they were selling to unsuspecting members of the public for approximately £450 each.

Darrall Webber, 47, and Sally Webber, 42, of Brynheulog, Mountain Ash both pleaded guilty to two Animal Welfare Act offences on Wednesday (12 June) at Merthyr Magistrates Court.

An RSPCA Cymru appeal for information has been launched after a blind puppy was allegedly kicked in Wrexham.

Calls to the charity claim three men in the Penycae area of the town were seen with the puppy, aged approximately six weeks old, and one deliberately kicked the dog to the body.

Today we launched a crisis appeal to support the East Winch Wildlife Centre which is caring for more than 100 orphaned seal pups following the recent floods on the Norfolk coast.

It costs £22 a week to feed each seal, with pups expected to require up to five months of rehabilitation after being separated from their mothers by last week’s tidal surge.
