Two young pups were found abandoned tethered to breeze blocks in a North Wales lay-by, sat in their own urine and faeces, approximately 250 yards from the RSPCA’s Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre, in Upper Colwyn Bay. 

A saucepan and plastic bowl filled with water were left with the pups, alongside four water bottles in a blue plastic box. They were found during the morning of 4 July.

Two French bulldog pups found abandoned in a Pontypool cardboard box are set to become television stars, after a remarkable U-turn in RSPCA Cymru care.

Yoda and Mogwai will play a starring role in the first episode of the new series of The Dog Rescuers, the hit Channel 5 show, which follows the animal welfare work of the RSPCA.

Dog lovers from across North Wales are being invited to join a sponsored RSPCA “Mutt Strutt” in Llandudno.

The event, which takes place on 2 April, will see people and their four-legged companions undertake a six-mile walk around the Great Orme.

All monies raised will be donated to the Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre, to support their work helping animals rescued from cruelty and neglect. In 2016, Bryn-Y-Maen rehomed 90 dogs, 245 cats, 35 rabbits and 83 other animals.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a litter of newborn pups – thought to have been exposed to carbon monoxide – were found in a car park in Staffordshire.

Four tiny dead puppies have been found in a Salvation Army clothing bank in Bridgend.

The pups were found in the bank at a Co-op shop, at the Square, in Pencoed on Saturday 21 January, after being found by a member of the public.
