The RSPCA has rescued a seal pup who managed to find his way to Tattershall Castle in Lincoln.
It’s thought the young grey seal had come down the weir and climbed up the bank before trying to get into a small dyke.
He was spotted by a family walking their dogs on Boxing Day, and they called the RSPCA.

The RSPCA has issued urgent advice to the public about what to do if they see a struggling seal on a beach – after “well-meaning” members of the public returned one to waters in Pembrokeshire.

A young bull-breed cross pup with obvious deformities has been found alone and potentially abandoned on grounds belonging to the Llandarcy Sports Academy.
RSPCA Cymru was alerted after a member of the public found the poor pup last Wednesday (18 September). The dog was found around lunchtime that day.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a litter of kittens were dumped in a pub toilet in Lincoln – for a second time.
The kittens were found in a black bag with the words ‘May Contain Prosecco’ printed on it in the men’s toilet at The Ritz Wetherspoon’s pub on the High Street at around 7pm on Tuesday (25 June).
The same thing happened in March last year.
