Our research has shown that almost a quarter (24%) of pet owners will be dishing up a plate of Christmas dinner for their pet this year.
However, the festive treat could backfire as many of the traditional Christmas trimmings are toxic for dogs and cats.
Last year more than a dozen dogs were admitted to our hospitals after being ‘treated’ to Christmas dinner by their owners.

A survey we conducted has revealed that animal lovers are expected to spend about £300 million pampering their pets this Christmas.
Nine out of ten owners (91 per cent) are buying their pet a present this year, with almost a fifth (18 per cent), admitting they will be spending more on their pet than their mother-in-law.

Animal rescue teams were on standby to deal with emergencies as strong winds and rain lashed England and Wales on Sunday (October 27).
Happily pet owners and farmers are thought to have acted on warnings and moved their animals indoors or to higher ground.
