The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was found wandering around South Shields in a suffering state.
The black and white male dog, thought to be a Staffy/Border collie cross, was found straying near to the shops on Whiteleas Way on Tuesday 20 March and handed to the dog warden.
He is very thin and suffering from the skin condition demodectic mange.

Two dead dogs have been found buried in a shallow grave in Stockton-on-Tees, one of them with a severely fractured skull.
The lurcher-types – one male and one female – were discovered buried down a disused railway line about 200 metres off Letch Lane by a woman walking her dog on Wednesday morning (21 March).
She called Stockton Council, who called the RSPCA.

The RSPCA is making a last ditch appeal to try to find the owner of a dog who died at the vets after being brought in by someone who said they had seen her being kicked and rescued her.
The 10 year old black female Staffy – called ‘Kara’ according to her microchip – was taken to a vet practice in Wallsend on 15 November with breathing difficulties, and died shortly afterwards. She also had large mammary tumours.
The burned remains of a Rottweiler dog have been found in Sunderland.
The male dog was found by a member of the public on a footpath just off Claxheugh Road, South Hylton at around 3pm on Tuesday afternoon (6 March).
The dog is thought to have been aged between eight and 11 years old.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was seen being hit with a chain lead in a Sunderland street yesterday morning (Wednesday 3 January).
The dog – a female German shepherd-husky cross called ‘Delilah’ – slipped her lead during the incident at around 6.30am on Percival Street, Pallion and ran into a nearby garden.
