A swan died after suffering serious injuries following a dog attack in Nantwich.

The swan was found by a passer-by in the river by Manor Road North on Saturday afternoon (30 September), with severe injuries to one of her wings.

When the RSPCA arrived, the swan was so far out into the weir that assistance was required by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service to safely rescue her.

An RSPCA cattery is desperately looking for a fur-ever home for two of its residents – who have come back into its care for the FOURTH time through no fault of their own.

Brother and sister Charlie and Cherry are currently patiently waiting to be adopted at the RSPCA’s Stapeley Grange in Nantwich, Cheshire.

The RSPCA is inviting people to visit a cattery in Cheshire after a drop in the number of potential adopters.

Last month, nine people adopted a cat from Stapeley Grange Cattery, in Nantwich, Cheshire – a decrease from this time last year, when 15 adopted from the cattery.

It comes after only 73 adoptions have been made this year – compared to 98 for the same period last year.

Four baby pied wagtail birds are recovering at an RSPCA wildlife centre after their nest crumbled away on the roof of a Crewe hospital.

Staff in the pathology department at Leighton Hospital were alerted to the birds’ plight after hearing tweeting and seeing a tiny bird inside an air vent, on Wednesday (12 July).
