A puppy in Coventry who was described by an RSPCA inspector as one of the thinnest dogs she had ever seen has been spoiled with toys and treats donated by a kind-hearted couple who live 175 miles away.

Helen and Steve McGuirl, of Darlington, read about five-month-old lurcher William online and decided they wanted to do something to help him while he is in the care of the RSPCA.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a lurcher-type dog was found abandoned with black duct tape tied painfully tight around her muzzle near Faringdon last Saturday (15 August).

The young female dog, who has now been renamed Clover due to her lucky escape, was found walking the streets near Puddleduck Lane in Great Coxwell by locals who eventually managed to catch her before calling the RSPCA for help.

A Saluki-type dog has been found wandering around Middleton, Leeds in a ‘shocking’ state. She was so emaciated her bones could be seen through her skin and she was suffering such a severe skin condition she was almost completely bald.

 

She was spotted by a member of the public in West Grange Gardens, Belle Isle on Sunday 15 September. He was so concerned about her that he took her home and called the RSPCA.
