Two elderly Staffordshire bull terriers are crossing their paws for a new home this Christmas – after being in the RSPCA’s care for more than A YEAR.

Kaya, who is aged 13, and Kane, who is 10, arrived at the animal charity’s Wirral branch in October 2016 after Kaya was beaten by her owner in a Wirral street. As a result, both dogs were taken in by the RSPCA while investigations and a prosecution took place.

A dog who made an amazing recovery after being starved and abandoned is still patiently waiting for a new home – after being constantly overlooked by potential adopters at an RSPCA centre.

Hollie, a ten-year-old mastiff-cross, came into the RSPCA’s Gonsal Farm animal centre, in Dorrington, Shropshire, in April after being abandoned by her previous owner at a house in the West Midlands.

The RSPCA’s Burton branch is urgently seeking a new home for a long-stay cat with a heart condition which may result in his life being shortened.

Clive has been with the branch since April after his previous owner was hospitalised, but sadly since then no one has come forward to offer him a home.

A cat which was abandoned outside a vets is still waiting for a home after 200 days in the RSPCA’s care.

Three-year-old Pearl is the longest-stay cat at the charity’s Stapeley Grange Cattery, in Nantwich, Cheshire. Since she arrived in early February, she has seen 92 other cats be adopted from the centre – but as yet no one has offered her a home.
