April 10 turned out to be a very Good Friday for a swan rescued by the RSPCA in Pwll after swallowing fishing litter.
Rescuers from the animal welfare charity were alerted after the troubled swan was spotted with fishing line protruding from his beak, by a member of the public.

A cat’s leg was left badly broken after being shot with an air rifle near Llanelli.
RSPCA Cymru was notified after the female tortoiseshell cat, named Spot, was shot last Friday (8 June), in the village of Pontyberem.
The cat – aged six – was taken to a veterinary practice, where it was confirmed her leg was broken by an air rifle pellet.
Spot is now set to undergo an operation to have the damaged leg amputated.

RSPCA Cymru teamed-up with firefighters from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service to save a distressed cat stuck on a Llanelli roof.
A resident of an adjacent care home spotted the cat atop the roof of a Clos Glanmor bungalow in the town.
The black and white domestic shorthair was stuck on the roof overnight between Wednesday 18, and Thursday 19 October – and, by the next morning, appeared lethargic, and upset.

Four stunning sparrowhawk chicks have been rescued by RSPCA Cymru, after the “balls of fluff” were found on the ground in Llanelli, away from their nesting place.
A member of the public found the chicks on Wednesday (28 June), putting them in a cardboard box and confining them, before they were collected by the RSPCA.
