A holidaymaker came back with an unexpected guest from her Tenerife break – a three-inch gecko lizard buried inside their luggage.

A holidaymaker had a shock on their return from Thailand while unpacking their suitcase – when they came across a stowaway lizard which is a protected species in its homeland.

The six-inch lizard had burrowed themselves inside a suitcase of diving equipment, which was then transported 6,000 miles across the world by airplane.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a bearded dragon was abandoned inside a carrier bag outside a Birmingham hospital.

A member of the public contacted the animal welfare charity after they found the lizard inside the Morrisons’ bag on a bench opposite the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Edgbaston on Saturday, July 2.

Iguana dumped in park_RSPCA

The RSPCA has launched an investigation after an iguana was found abandoned in a local Winchester park last Friday (10 June) with a severely broken leg.

A member of the public found the lizard in the public park on Cromwell Road in the Stanmore area of the town and took him home in a plastic container before the RSPCA came to pick him up.
