The RSPCA is appealing for information after a male swan is believed to have been attacked by dogs at Cusworth Hall and Park in Doncaster and had to be put to sleep.

 

The RSPCA caught the bird on Wednesday 23 July after a call from a concerned member of the public.

The RSPCA is urging people not to bring dogs to Appleby Horse Fair, Cumbria during the annual Gypsy and Traveller event, which starts on Thursday (5-11 June)*.

 

Despite repeatedly advising people of the dangers, police and the RSPCA rescued a German Shepherd dog from a hot car last year. We are appealing for information after one badger was killed and another seriously injured by snares set up at the entrance to their sett.

The two badgers caught were found entangled in a field in Moorends, near Doncaster in the illegally set free-running snares. It is thought they had been trapped for more than 24 hours.
