The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was found staggering down the middle of a road in Blackburn, Lancashire.
The female German shepherd type was emaciated, her fur matted and covered in faeces.
A member of the public who was driving by spotted her on Pleckgate Road just before midnight on Thursday 30 January, moments before she collapsed.

A missing dog has been rescued from a steep embankment in Halifax and happily reunited with her owners thanks to her microchip.
Purdy, a white German shepherd, was spotted stuck down the side of a stream by a member of the public yesterday morning (Tuesday 27 November), who called the RSPCA for help.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was thrown out of a car and kicked three times by a woman – who then tried to run the dog over – in a Shropshire village.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was seen being hit with a chain lead in a Sunderland street yesterday morning (Wednesday 3 January).
The dog – a female German shepherd-husky cross called ‘Delilah’ – slipped her lead during the incident at around 6.30am on Percival Street, Pallion and ran into a nearby garden.
