A stray chicken has been rehomed by the RSPCA after being found by students on a night out.

The chicken was collected by RSPCA inspector Sara Jordan (pictured below) and taken to RSPCA Doncaster, Rotherham & District Branch Animal Centre in Bawtry, Doncaster.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a suffering dog was left abandoned in woodland in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire.

The dog was discovered last week (Wednesday 18 March) in Atkinsons Warren, a large area of woodland in North-West Scunthorpe, at around 5pm. He was found by a dog walker after their pet strayed from the path to a secluded area.

A snake ‘wreaked havoc’ in a hotel room* in Doncaster on New Year’s Eve. 

 

The RSPCA was called about the kingsnake – which is a species commonly kept as a pet – at about 6pm after someone had checked into the hotel, gone to their room and discovered the reptile.

The RSPCA has rescued a seal pup who managed to find his way to Tattershall Castle in Lincoln.

 

It’s thought the young grey seal had come down the weir and climbed up the bank before trying to get into a small dyke.

He was spotted by a family walking their dogs on Boxing Day, and they called the RSPCA.

A kitten has been rescued by the RSPCA after being found in an industrial bin in Durham. 

 

The 10-week-old tortie and white female was heard meowing by a member of the public the day before she was found on Friday (20 December).

 

RSPCA animal collection officer (ACO) Shane Lynn got to the scene, in an alley off Providence Row, at 4.45pm. He said: “It seems incredibly unlikely that this kitten got into the bin on her own.
