Three men have been given suspended prison sentences for causing unnecessary suffering to pigs at a farm in Lincolnshire, after a prosecution brought by the RSPCA.

 

Shocking undercover footage of pigs being repeatedly kicked in the head, hit with gates and jabbed with pitchforks was filmed by Animal Equality in April last year and passed to the RSPCA  to investigate.

An urgent appeal for information has been launched by the RSPCA after a sheep was found with “horrendous, gory injuries”, including its ears both ripped off – in a suspected dog attack.

RSPCA officers were alerted after a member of the public spotted the sheep on banking in the Caerphilly area, across the junction from the Trehir Civic Amenity Site towards the A649. The sheep was seen like this on Sunday (9 September).

RSPCA officers have abseiled 25-metres down a Swansea cliff edge to save a stranded sheep, with the dramatic rescue caught on camera.

The charity was alerted after members of the public spotted the sheep, trapped down a cliff in the Pitton area of Rhossili, in the Gower Peninsula.

An RSPCA rope rescue team attended and abseiled down the cliff to rescue the stranded animal.  The rescue was completed on 10 January.

The dramatic RSPCA Cymru rescue of a sheep trapped in a Gwynedd cove has been captured on film.

Breathtaking footage, largely recorded on action cameras, shows RSPCA officers swimming out to the cove to complete the amazing rescue.

The four-person rescue took place on 10 May, in Trefor, on the north coast of the Llŷn Peninsula – and demonstrates the incredible lengths the charity will go to rescue animals, and protect their welfare.

A seven-strong team of RSPCA officers have staged a remarkable rescue of a trapped sheep from a quarry in Snowdonia.

The sheep had been trapped for approximately two weeks, and was stuck several hundred feet down the quarry, which prompted a call to the RSPCA.

RSPCA officers arrived at the scene to find the sheep uninjured, and with access to food and water, but with no way to return safely to land.
