The RSPCA is appealing for information after a family of swans was attacked in a popular Middlesbrough park.

 

The male swan was found dead at the edge of the lake in Albert Park, and all the eggs smashed. The female was in distress nearby.

 

The charity was called after the extremely upsetting discovery was made this morning (Wednesday 26 April).

To celebrate British Egg Week and World Egg Day (Oct 14), RSPCA Cymru is urging people to consider rehoming a friendly hen, from its Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre.

Doreen, Doris and Delilah came into RSPCA care after being rescued from terrible conditions. After lots of tender, loving, care by staff at RSPCA Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre, the girls are now thriving and ready to find a new home.

Final preparations are taking place for RSPCA Great Ayton Animal Centre’s Easter Fair & Eggstravaganza at the weekend (Saturday 5 April 2014).

 

The event is taking place at the Yarm Lane centre in Great Ayton between 11.30am and 3pm.
