The RSPCA is appealing for information after five chickens were cramped into a small bucket and abandoned in Nottingham.

A member of the public found the five Bantam-type fowls in an alleyway off Broadwood Road, in Bestwood, on Friday (3 February). The birds had been squeezed into a plastic bucket – used to contain fence preservative – with a piece of wood on top.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after five cats living in the same area of a Leicestershire town died from antifreeze poisoning in the space of two weeks.

Tests confirmed that all five of the cats who lived on or near Victor Avenue, in Melton Mowbray, had ingested the toxic substance.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after the decomposed bodies of four cats were found in bin bags in some woods in a Derbyshire town.

A member of the public made the discovery in the woods in Nottingham Lane, Riddings, on Tuesday (19 April) and contacted the police, who contacted the RSPCA.
