The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was seen being thrown from a bridge in Wirral.

A member of the public rescued the dog – a male border terrier – after witnessing him being thrown from a bridge in Lingham Lane, Moreton, onto wasteland below on New Year’s Day.

A dog who was found wandering the streets with his jaw hanging off after being used for badger baiting is ending 2017 on a high after finding a loving new home.

Herbie the lurcher was rescued by the RSPCA in August this year when he was found straying in Warrington. The injuries to his face were so severe that he had to undergo reconstruction surgery to rebuild his jaw.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dead six-week-old puppy was found dumped in a box on a Derbyshire street.

The male brown and white crossbreed-type puppy was found in Guildford Avenue, Swadlincote, on Friday evening (15 December). The person who found the dog, inside a pink box, contacted the RSPCA.

The RSPCA is investigating after a tumour-ridden dog was tied up and left for dead under a bush.

A member of the public found the distressed dog, thought to be a collie cross, tied up in an alleyway next to Available Car, in Station Road, Castle Donington, Leicestershire, on Saturday morning (16 December).

He was immediately taken to a vet, where he was put to sleep on welfare grounds as he was so poorly.

Two elderly Staffordshire bull terriers are crossing their paws for a new home this Christmas – after being in the RSPCA’s care for more than A YEAR.

Kaya, who is aged 13, and Kane, who is 10, arrived at the animal charity’s Wirral branch in October 2016 after Kaya was beaten by her owner in a Wirral street. As a result, both dogs were taken in by the RSPCA while investigations and a prosecution took place.
