The RSPCA is appealing for information after a poorly and emaciated Japanese akita dog was found staggering on a Greater Manchester street.

The member of the public who found the dog managed to confine him in their garden before contacting the RSPCA. An animal welfare officer (AWO) from the charity collected the dog and took him to the RSPCA’s Greater Manchester Animal Hospital for him to be assessed.

RSPCA has launched an urgent appeal for information amid fears a badly-injured dog found in Abercynon has been used in badger digging or dog fighting activity. 

The animal welfare charity was alerted after the dog was found near the Pontcynon Industrial Estate on Sunday (8 July).

A one-week-old lurcher-type puppy whose eyes were still closed has been found in a cardboard box in a Wrexham alley-way.

A large brown mastiff-type dog has been found dead in a shopping trolley wrapped in a duvet which was left on a Cardiff pathway.

RSPCA Cymru was notified by a member of the public, who made the awful discovery on Sunday (24 June) – at approximately 4.55pm.
