The body of a bloated Staffordshire bull terrier-cross dog has been retrieved from a Llangollen river, with rope tied around the neck. 

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information, after the sad discovery was made by a passer-by on 23 June, between the hours of 12.30pm and 12.45pm.

An animal welfare clinic in Denbighshire has nearly trebled its opening hours, in a move which will prove excellent news to many owners of domestic pets in the local area.
