Four dumped cockerels have been rescued by the RSPCA after being found on the side of the road in Swansea. 

A member of the public reported the abandoned birds to the RSPCA, after spotting them last Wednesday afternoon (29 July) on Allt-Y-Graban Road.

Three white cockerels and one brown cockerel were rescued by RSPCA animal collection officer (ACO) Ellie West and are now at a local private boarding establishment.

Three cockerels have been found straying near Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse in North Wales.

A member of the public spotted the birds, and was able to keep them safe and well until the RSPCA could make arrangements for their future care, and complete the rescue. They were collected by the RSPCA yesterday (23 January).

None of the birds were microchipped – and anybody with information about any possible owner has been urged to contact the RSPCA’s inspectorate appeal line.

Twenty-one cockerels have been rescued after being abandoned in Northumberland.

 

The birds were dumped in a wooded area just off the A1, near the village of Belford.

 

Nineteen of the birds were caught by RSPCA staff and caring members of the public on Friday 10 January.
