An RSPCA veterinary clinic is running “desperately low” of blankets and other bedding, and has asked supporters to donate unwanted items to help animals in its care.
RSPCA Merthyr Tydfil Clinic – at The Willows in Abercanaid – provides veterinary care for sick or injured animals rescued by RSPCA officers; and offers low-cost support for pets of people on benefits in the local community.

The search is on for the owner of a tabby cat found in Newport with an eye problem.
RSPCA Cymru was alerted after a member of the public found the neutered male cat in the Marlowe Gardens area of the city.
It is believed the cat may be lost from home as he is “very friendly”, and the animal welfare charity is now appealing for information in the hope the owner may come forward.

RSPCA Cymru teamed-up with firefighters from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service to save a distressed cat stuck on a Llanelli roof.
A resident of an adjacent care home spotted the cat atop the roof of a Clos Glanmor bungalow in the town.
The black and white domestic shorthair was stuck on the roof overnight between Wednesday 18, and Thursday 19 October – and, by the next morning, appeared lethargic, and upset.

RSPCA Newport Animal Centre is seeking donations of unwanted garden furniture.
The centre, based on Hartridge Farm Road, is looking for tables and chairs, in good condition, to use across the site.
Newport Animal Centre found loving new homes for 380 rescue animals in 2016, namely 194 cats, 109 dogs, 51 rabbits and 26 other small animals.
The centre is also seeking donations of large plastic storage boxes, with or without lids, to help store equipment and other items.
