A cat shooting in Abertillery has prompted RSPCA Cymru to launch an appeal for information.
Simba, a ginger and white male cat, was found shot near shops in the vicinity of Tillery Road on Monday (6 August). The shooting is believed to have taken place shortly before 8pm.
Veterinary inspection confirmed the cat had been shot. Simba was understandably distressed when taken to a veterinary practice, with blood pouring from chest wounds and the left foreleg unusable.

An appeal for information has been launched after a cat was shot in the Pontypridd area, with a pellet breaking the tabby’s femur.
The owner found her female cat – named Tauriel – injured in the Llantwit Fardre area on 2 June, having been missing for a few days. The shooting is believed to have happened on 1 June.

RSPCA Cymru has launched an appeal for information after a cat was fatally shot in the Neath area.
The cat – named Bird – was found with a puncture wound between his shoulder blades, and was in severe distress as he dragged his back legs along the floor.
Sadly, Bird’s injuries were so severe that he later died from the extent of the injuries.

An appeal for information has been launched after a Barry cat died on a veterinarian’s recovery table after being shot by an air rifle.
The cat, named Rusty, had the pellet removed by operation on 24 February.
An x-ray scan revealed the pellet in the cat’s back, but – sadly – Rusty did not make it through the recovery stages following surgery.
