A special fundraising appeal has been launched by the RSPCA’s Stafford, Wolverhampton and District branch to raise money to pay for the treatment of a poorly cat who was hit by a car.

Black and white cat Harper came into the RSPCA’s care on 12 June after being picked up by an inspector following the incident. As a result of the collision, Harper suffered a fractured pelvis and was put on cage rest.

The RSPCA Northamptonshire branch is at crisis point as it struggles to cope with the numbers of dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals coming into its care.

The branch is now at breaking point as it struggles with higher than expected numbers – which results in increasing vet bills, boarding costs and food bills.

RSPCA Leeds, Wakefield and District branch’s new £1.5 million animal centre in East Ardsley opens to the public tomorrow (Saturday 27 June), and the first animals born at the centre will be amongst those looking for new homes.

Cyclists are being urged to sign up to the Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride and raise money for RSPCA Greater Manchester Animal Hospital (GMAH) in Salford.

 

The 60 mile ride, which takes place on Sunday 13 July, will set off from Manchester United’s Football Ground at Old Trafford, Manchester and finish on the South Promenade in Blackpool.
