A pigeon has been found with a crossbow arrow through their body in Scarborough.

 

The bird was sitting on someone’s doorstep when they were discovered on Saturday (15 September).

 

They were found outside an address on Cross Street, Scarborough.

 

RSPCA inspector Laura Barber said: “This poor pigeon was just sitting there with the crossbow arrow all the way through their little body.

Ziggy, the dog shot with a crossbow who warmed the hearts of the public, is on the road to recovery after narrowly escaping with his life.

The two-year-old Staffy was found with the 20 inch carbon fibre bolt going through his head a week ago today (Wednesday, 22 October) in remote woods near Wansford, Peterborough.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a female swan was shot with a cross bow in Lynemouth, Northumberland.  The bolt went straight through her neck.

 

A member of the public called the RSPCA after spotting the swan and inspector Trevor Walker went out to the bird on the River Lyne on Monday (15 July).

 

He couldn’t get to her as she was on the water so requested the help of Northumberland Fire Service who attended.
