Wrexham becomes North Wales’ first council to back fireworks action after RSPCA calls

Wrexham County Borough Council has become North Wales’ first local authority to formally back RSPCA plans to mitigate the risks posed by fireworks to animals in the local area.

Councillors backed a host of measures on Wednesday (18 December) – which will help ensure pet owners in the local area can be prepared for the loud bangs associated with fireworks, while also promoting their responsible use, and raising awareness.

A Bang, Crackle and Pop-ular decision: RCT second council to act on Fireworks

Councillors in Rhondda Cynon Taf have unanimously backed action that could mitigate the risks fireworks can pose to animals and their welfare.

RSPCA Cymru say the local authority has made a “hugely important statement”, as RCT becomes the second Council to act following Neath Port Talbot, on Wednesday 27 November.

Councillors supported RCT exploring ensuring all public firework displays in the area are advertised in advance of the event – allowing residents to take precautions for their animals.

Banging news as NPT Councillors unanimously support fireworks action

Neath Port Talbot Council has become Wales’ first local authority to back a series of measures to mitigate the risks fireworks can pose to animals and their welfare.

Councillors unanimously backed noise limits and tougher restrictions on firework displays on Wednesday (27 November), to help ease difficulties for animals, and vulnerable people.
