A swan has been fatally injured after being attacked by two dogs in Rotherham at the weekend. It is the third incident of its kind dealt with by RSPCA officers in South Yorkshire in the past few weeks. 

 

The RSPCA was called to Bolton Brick Pond in Bolton-upon-Dearne after the incident happened at around 8.30am on Saturday (25 April).

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a number of teenagers were witnessed attacking a Jack Russell-type dog called Millie.

 

The incident happened at the top of New Road in Earby, Pendle, Lancashire at around 7.40pm on Saturday 16 November.

 

RSPCA inspector Adam Dickenson said: “There was a disturbance involving a large number of young people on the street outside Millie’s house.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a family of swans was attacked in a popular Middlesbrough park.

 

The male swan was found dead at the edge of the lake in Albert Park, and all the eggs smashed. The female was in distress nearby.

 

The charity was called after the extremely upsetting discovery was made this morning (Wednesday 26 April).
