A Rhondda Cynon Taf School has been crowned winner of a prestigious RSPCA Cymru debating competition.
Bryn Celynnog, from Beddau, were chosen by judges as the winner of Friday’s finale (21 June), which took place at the National Assembly for Wales.
Schools from Cardiff, Bangor, Milford Haven, Llanelli and Rhydyfelin also took part, having won through regional heats held across Wales.

School pupils from across Wales have swapped their classroom for the National Assembly for Wales’ Siambr Hywel – putting the topic of animal welfare under the spotlight.
Ysgol Plasmawr (Cardiff), Pembroke School (Pembrokeshire), Builth Wells High (Powys), Cardiff High (Cardiff), Ysgol Bryn Tawe (Swansea) and Ysgol Rhydywaun (Rhondda Cynon Taf) all took part in RSPCA Cymru’s annual ‘Great Debate’ event in Cardiff on Friday (22 June).

South Wales West Assembly Member Dr Dai Lloyd has hit the road with an RSPCA inspector, experiencing the frontline work the charity does each and every day to protect animals, and promote their welfare.
