The RSPCA is appealing for information after three skinny chickens were dumped in a pigeon basket in pouring rain in Merseyside.

A member of the public found the three birds huddled together in a brown basket on the Liverpool Loop Line, between Fazackerley to Hunts Cross, near to Longmoor Lane.

They contacted the RSPCA and inspector Helen Smith collected the birds, who were all very thin and hungry.

A pigeon has been found with a crossbow arrow through their body in Scarborough.

 

The bird was sitting on someone’s doorstep when they were discovered on Saturday (15 September).

 

They were found outside an address on Cross Street, Scarborough.

 

RSPCA inspector Laura Barber said: “This poor pigeon was just sitting there with the crossbow arrow all the way through their little body.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a poorly and emaciated Japanese akita dog was found staggering on a Greater Manchester street.

The member of the public who found the dog managed to confine him in their garden before contacting the RSPCA. An animal welfare officer (AWO) from the charity collected the dog and took him to the RSPCA’s Greater Manchester Animal Hospital for him to be assessed.

Three Cockapoo puppies dumped in Wetherby just over a week ago are doing well in RSPCA care.

 

The two females, Olive (left) and Emmy (middle), and male, Gus (right), were found by a member of the public on a bridle track off Deerstone Ridge on Sunday 6 May.

An RSPCA Cymru appeal for information has been launched after a blind puppy was allegedly kicked in Wrexham.
