RSPCA rescues fox in Hertfordshire

The RSPCA has rescued a fox cub from a football net, just days before the start of Euro 2016.

The fox was found on Wednesday morning (8 June) tangled in the net in the back garden of a house in Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.

The homeowner knew something was wrong when her dog started barking continuously from inside the house.

Guinea pig_Hemel Hempstead_2

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a young guinea pig was found wounded and dumped in a cramped, filthy hamster cage near some bins on an estate in Hemel Hempstead.

The boar was found dumped next to a lamppost and a rubbish area by a block of flats on Perry Green in the town by a member of the public, late in the evening on Friday, 20 May.

A group of recently-hatched young cygnets had a lucky escape this week (Wednesday 25 May) after they were rescued from a fast-flowing weir in Ware.

Staff from an office on Priory Street in Ware were concerned for the welfare of the baby swans after they saw them stuck in the weir located on the canal next to their offices and immediately reported the incident to the RSPCA.

A ten-strong team has battled against the elements to undertake a rescue, over two days, of a stranded cow in Ton Y Gilfach, Glynneath.

The cow, which was a young Charolais, had slipped into a river bed and became trapped approximately 70 foot down a river. Using ropes, officers confronted two waterfalls and difficult, treacherous terrain to ensure it was brought to safety.

‘Marv’ellous rescue of upside down cat

Fire service & RSPCA rescue adventurous feline

 

The RSPCA and Avon Fire and Rescue Service had to join forces last week to rescue a cat who had become stuck in a small gap between two garage walls.

Marv the cat had somehow become firmly wedged upside down in the gap between his owner’s garage and their next door neighbour’s garage in Lydiard Croft, Hanham, Bristol.
