A cat who had gotten wedged between two brick walls at a home in Stoke-on-Trent was rescued after a four-hour operation to free him.

The RSPCA was contacted by the concerned owner of Mickey at 10pm on Thursday (2 February) after the plucky cat was found squeezed down a tiny gap – just eight inches wide – at the side of his house and his next door neighbour’s garage, in Meadow Lane.

A puppy was found abandoned in the early hours of the morning on the doorstep of a member of the public who works closely with an RSPCA branch.

The person, who works with the RSPCA Llys Nini branch, found the helpless pup on their doorstep – in Swansea – at 5.30am in the morning on 29 January.

A man who assisted RSPCA Cymru in the attempted rescue of an injured gull by utilising his model boat has been thanked by the charity.

The RSPCA was called on 16 January, following reports of an injured bird at Cold Knap, in Barry.

An RSPCA inspector arrived to find a gull, swimming in the Cold Knap lake but appearing to struggle, while in obvious distress.

An Aylesbury duck lost its life in tragic circumstances after becoming trapped in fishing litter in Hendre Lake, in the St Mellons area of Cardiff.

RSPCA Cymru attempted to rescue the bird on Friday 30 December – from water near Cypress Drive.

Christmas shoppers in Swansea were left stunned as an exhausted swan was spotted struggling outside the Outfit store in the Morfa area.

A sizeable local crowd had gathered to watch the swan at the Morfa Bay shopping precinct on Thursday 1 December 2016.
