Sinbad the kitten stands tall after his epic journey overseas

An eight-month-old kitten has miraculously survived a stormy 16 day journey in a shipping container from Egypt before arriving on the back of a lorry in Hereford.

Named after Sinbad the sailor, the fictional adventurer who took to the high seas, the ginger tabby kitten travelled over 2,000 miles after hopping into a shipping container in Alexandria in Egypt on 8 March.

Cat found hanged from window frame

RSPCA appeals for information after horrific discovery


The RSPCA is appealing for information after a cat was found hanged from a window frame on Friday (27 February).


A cord noose had been tied around the neck of the ginger cat and then around the window frame at the side of a derelict snooker club on High Oak, Brierley Hill.

Guinea pigs found dumped in woods

Two little animals were cold and wet

The RSPCA is appealing for information after two guinea pigs were found abandoned in woods in Hurn, Dorset yesterday (6 January).


The two small animals were found in the woods off Matchams Lane in the morning.  The kind member of the public who found them stayed with them until RSPCA animal collection officer (ACO) Sue Brooks was able to collect them.

Two cats from same family shot by air rifle

RSPCA appeals for information

The RSPCA is appealing for witnesses or those with information to come forward after two cats from one house were shot by air rifles in Sedgley, West Midlands.

The first cat (pictured right) was shot in the neck on 26 July last year and, although the pellet was in a very dangerous area, vets managed to remove it and the cat recovered.

Two rabbits die after being abandoned

Two other rabbits and two guinea pigs also dumped


The RSPCA is appealing for information after four rabbits and two guinea pigs were found dumped in a field in Dorset.


The six animals were found at around 4pm on Tuesday 18 November on a track near a locked gate not far from The Cock and Bottle Inn, East Morden, Wareham.
