A CEREMONY to celebrate the successful winners of the Community Animal Welfare Footprint (CAWF) awards will be held at the Pierhead in Cardiff Bay today (7 October).

THE RSPCA has assisted with rescuing a pigeon that became stuck in netting at the top of a Cardiff building.

Inspector Nicola Johnson was called help rescue the bird that was trapped at the top of a Queen Street building at around 5.30pm on Wednesday (1 October).

THE RSPCA has rescued a sheep trapped in a sticky bog at Snowdonia National Park.

Inspector Andy Broadbent was called to Fron at Upper Llandwrog, Caernarfon on Thursday (2 October) to rescue a sheep that had become stuck in a deep bog on the slopes of Mynydd Mawr.

THE RSPCA is looking for the owner of a lost parakeet.

The colourful bird was found by a member of the public at Delamere Avenue, Buckley on 13 September.

RSPCA inspector Mark Roberts collected the parakeet and took the tame bird to RSPCA’s Bryn y Maen Animal Centre.

“The parakeet is very friendly and had no injuries,” he said. “The bird was found in someone’s garden who took it into their conservatory.”
