A fox had a lucky escape last week when she was found and rescued from a closed industrial waste bin at a church.

The wild mammal was found trapped inside the bin at Bromley Methodist Church in College Road in Bromley, Kent at around 10am on Saturday, 12 September. The lid of the bin was closed and so heavy that she would not have had the strength to lift it by herself.

The RSPCA and Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the rescue last week after a seven-month-old kitten got stuck at the top of a high tree.

A swan had to be treated in intensive care after getting stuck in a squashed corner behind a solid metal ladder attached to the wall of a canal.

The RSPCA was called after a member of the public spotted the swan thrashing around in the water on Monday, 7 September. The bird’s legs had got caught on the rung of the ladder in Brandon lock, Church Road, in Brandon, Suffolk.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a woman was seen kicking a hedgehog in the middle of Peterborough.

We were called after a passing member of the public saw the middle-aged female attacking the wild animal and shouting at him around 2.30pm on Tuesday (15 September). She was in a courtyard at the bottom of some flats in Sprignall, Bretton.
