Miraculously,  three year-old Puss-Puss survived, but suffered such extensive injuries she will have to have her eye removed.

The black-and-white cat disappeared for a week, after she was seen injured after gunshots had been heard near her home in Jubilee Lane, Ardleigh, Colchester. She was rushed straight to the vets after she came home last Friday (8 April) dragging her feet, covered in blood and clearly injured.

The owner of a collie-cross who wandered off during a walk has urged all pet owners to get their beloved animals microchipped.

Amanda Devlin’s mother was walking 15-year-old Maggie (pictured left) in Barnet, where she lives, when the crossbreed disappeared on 24 March, prompting 48 hours of frantic searching and worrying.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a three month-old puppy was found dumped with a fractured leg by an alleyway full of rubbish.

The RSPCA, Redwings Horse Sanctuary and World Horse Welfare,  carried out a joint operation to remove 44 horses from a property in Sussex at the start of December.
