An RSPCA officer is swapping his inspectorate uniform for his running shorts – as he looks to chalk-up a 590-mile lap of South Wales to raise funds for animals in need.

David Milborrow – who has been on the frontline for the RSPCA since 2014 – is running an entire lap of South Wales, and hopes to have completed his on-foot tour of the region by the end of 2021.

RSPCA Cymru and South Wales Police have launched a joint appeal for information after two pigeons were found shot in the Pentwyn area of Cardiff.

Officers from the animal welfare charity were alerted after a member of the public found an injured pigeon at an address in The Hawthorns on Friday 2 April.

The RSPCA has urged people in the Gwynedd area to report potentially suspicious activity against birds after a peregrine falcon was found with puncture wounds consistent with being shot.

Rescuers from the animal welfare charity were alerted after a member of the public spotted the bird of prey struggling on a road in Penrhyndeudraeth; a few miles east of Porthmadog, last Tuesday (6 April).
