The RSPCA is trying to find the owner of a friendly lovebird rescued from the chimney of a house in Middlesbrough. 

 

The family who live at the property on Bradhope Road heard a noise behind their fireplace on Saturday morning (11 April) and found the little bird.Lovebird found in chimney in Middlesbrough

 

They managed to get the bird into a box and called the RSPCA.

 

RSPCA Inspector Krissy Raine said: “It was quite a surprise for the family to discover this cheeky little chap!

 

“Luckily the lovebird is in good health, eating well and able to fly.

 

“The little bird is very friendly and will happily sit on your hand.

 

“I’m sure they must have an owner who is missing them. Please call the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018 and ask to leave a message for me.”

 

The RSPCA is continuing an emergency-only service through the lockdown period.
