RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after six guinea pigs were left abandoned in a bag in Barry.

The six guinea pigs – of varying ages – were found in a Lidl bag in a layby off Port Road on Saturday (14 September). They were found by a member of the public who contacted the RSPCA.

The RSPCA has urged Deeside residents to be on the look-out for approximately 15 pet canaries believed to be loose in the Sandycroft area.

It is understood the pet birds are on the loose in the local area, and anyone who spots one has been urged to note the location, carefully confine them if possible in a secure, well-ventilated cardboard box and contact the RSPCA immediately.

An urgent appeal for information has been launched by RSPCA Cymru after three equines were found on the hillside at Wolfscastle in Haverfordwest.

Officers from the animal welfare charity were contacted after the horses were spotted by a member of the public on Sunday (8 September).
