An Abertillery couple have been fined after their dog was found straying in a “woeful condition”, with the owners’ failure to secure earlier, urgent treatment causing the crossbreed to suffer.

Both Andrew Morris, 58, and Susan Lillian Morris, 56, pleaded guilty to two Animal Welfare Act offences at Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court last Monday (10 June) concerning the dog, named Tia.

They were tracked down after the stray dog’s microchip was scanned.

The RSPCA has come to the aid of a nesting gull based in a busy car park in Llandudno.

An officer from the charity was alerted after reports of an injured gull in the car park of Parc Llandudno in North Wales.

An RSPCA inspector is set to trek to Everest Base Camp to raise funds for animals in need.

An RSPCA cattery is looking to find a home for a long-stay cat who has been looking for a new home for six months.

Five-year-old Snowy was taken into RSPCA Stapeley Grange by an inspector in January after she was found as a stray.

Five kittens abandoned on a doorstep in a hat in Nantyglo have been taken into RSPCA care.

The two black and three tabby kittens – thought to be under six weeks old – were found on the evening of Monday 10 June at Pant View, Nantyglo. The kittens were taken to a nearby vets by the member of public who found them, and were found to be all in good health.
