A mischievous cat has taken a Comet goldfish from a pond and taken it back to his home in Barry.
The fish – which is around four to six inches long – was found by the owner of the cat who brought it to their Pontypridd Road house on 24 March.
Luckily the goldfish had not been injured – apart from a few claw/tooth wounds but will hopefully make a full recovery – and was placed into a container with water, with the RSPCA being called.
RSPCA inspector Simon Evans said: “This is definitely an unusual call to have. This cat has caught this fish out of someone’s pond and then taken him home to the owner’s surprise.
“The fish is fine and has now been taken to an aquatics while we make enquiries.
“If anyone is missing a goldfish from their pond in the Pontypridd Road area in Barry, please let us know as this could be your fish. We’d like to be able to get it back to you!”
If anyone has any information knows where this goldfish is from please call the inspector information line on 0300 123 8018.
