Do you have any unwanted Christmas presents you would like to donate to help animals at RSPCA Newport Animal Centre?

The Hartridge Road animal centre is appealing for any unwanted gifts or items for an upcoming Easter Spring Fete on Saturday 30 March – which this year is being held at the Ringland Labour Club from 11am.

There will be craft stalls, a tombola, bric-a-brac, refreshments, cakes, children’s games and crafts, face painting and much more!

The centre’s manager, Stuart Toulson, said: “We can’t wait for this year’s Easter Spring Fete – it is always one of our favourite fundraisers of the year. It is a wonderful chance to meet our supporters, spread the word about what we do and raise much needed for the centre.

“As well appealing for donations for our stalls – which could be anything from unwanted Christmas presents or bric-a-brac, we’re also looking for stallholders to take part in our family fun event.”

The event will help to raise funds for the ongoing care and rehabilitation of the animals at the centre who have been rescued by the RSPCA inspectorate – with many of them being cruelty and neglect cases.

Stuart added: “We have approximately one hundred animals on site who are continually receiving veterinary treatment, behaviour training and general rehabilitation where we prepare them for rehoming and their forever homes.”

“Whilst they are with us we try and provide as much enrichment as possible to help alleviate stress and boredom experienced by many, all funds raised go straight back into the centre.”

To take part as a stallholder please email newport@rspca.org.uk or you can contact the centre on 0300 123 0744.

Donations can be dropped off at the centre – based at Hartridge Farm Road – anyday between 11.30am to 4pm everyday, except Thursdays.

Services the centre offers include animal adoption, dog training, microchipping, pet merchandise and pet welfare advice. You can find out more about RSPCA’s Newport Animal Centre and view some of the animals that need rehoming at http://www.rspca.org.uk/local/newport-animal-centre/
